Feathered visitors

johnnibblyWe were delighted to welcome Nibbly, a black barn owl, and Beebo, a tawny owl to Shire House.

We spent a lovely afternoon full of lots of oohing and aahing!

We were all very taken with our little visitors from the New Forest Owl Studio.

This month Ian, a local entertainer, came to lead us in a singalong session which had most of us exercising our vocal chords and we rounded off the evening with a lovely buffet supper.

Chinese New Year

We celebrated the Chinese New Year on 19th February. Residents sampled some Chinese food and we discussed our Chinese horoscopes. It turns out we have a few tigers and roosters here but no dragons! We tested our dexterity by playing games with different sizes of chopsticks - good job we didn’t use them to eat with…

Valentine's Day

heartsLove is in the air.

Residents got busy potato stamping to create some Valentine heart decorations that looked fabulous.

Valentine's Day wouldn't be right without chocolate so residents also turned their hands to making chocolate truffles..... scrumptious!

Donkey visit

Today we had a very special visit from 'Harry'.

It was his first outing from the Sidmouth Donkey Sanctuary and he looked very smart in his Christmas hat and blanket. Harry was the perfect gentleman, allowing residents and staff to fuss and pet him and making us all smile.
